No-one else around to do it
I must go assess the mess
Inhale.
Lucky me!

A boy and his mother
and a jar of tomato sauce—
splattered across Aisle 11

Exhale.
How can I be mad
at this adorable child?
It was only an accident!
You can tell by his face

In fact, I remember a time
when I was a little boy
and I broke a jar of sauce
I thought I would never recover
until I looked up at and saw
my Grandmother—
she and I were shopping
together—
Her eyes were wide open
But she smiled

Alone in his mess.
Alone in my mess.
A mother smiles.
A grandmother smiled.

Shaking my head—
I smile—
We both live on Isle 11
Not strangers.

Days of Wine and Knobs

Lately, I have, undoubtedly, been neglecting my writing. But, I have been quite busy making crafts—when I am not working my day job. Do I smell a hint of change in the air, there? I sure hope so. Anyway, here are some doorknob pieces I just made for my amazing friend Cathy. She was cool enough to ask me to make 4 for her. I am often reminded of how blessed I am to have the most amazing friends in the whole world. I added a couple other things to her package before shipping it off.

Staying Busy

I haven’t been inspired to write very much, lately. But, I have been all about redecorating, creating pieces of art to hang, and to finally getting around to finishing so many things I have been putting off. Sometimes, I swear I could just keep going and going and never even finish a To-Do List. I am very pleased at how much I have completed, but still can’t help but notice the mound of laundry I need to do, the tub that could be scrubbed, etc. But, for what it’s worth, the above and below are a few pics of the things I have been focused on.
